finally I found an intermediate solution here for importing AVCHD videos from my Samsung HMX-H105 to iMovie/FinalCut Express.

Importing the clip with correct aspect-ratio does work with iMovie 9 (optimize video: full) but interlacing settings are still wrong. So using MPEG Streamclip to encode to Apple Intermedia Codec (100%, AND NOT deinterlace) and importing the mov in iMovie takes some time but works very well.

The files get about 5-10 times larger but can be edited on the fly in iMovie/FCE directly without waiting for AVCHD decode process.

the daily gadget: the turtlecam. Using an old ipcam from the basement, installation only took minutes. Implementing the upload using ftp to get to the local server and rsync it to the webserver took a little longer. Images are collected for later timelapse video creation.

Next level is perhaps a megapixel cam with eye-fi card.

public relaunch of the bilddatenbank24.de today with full new technology stack.

Now using Rails + SOLR instead of good old PHP osCommerce shop + J2EE Backend. The old complex system was simply unmaintainable for a too long now.

remarks: still beta and IE mostly unsupported ;-) … still many new features and fotos on the way.
